Sophie Lehniger (born 1995, Germany) is an abstract artist based in Munich. SophStudioWorks is her studio practice.

Lehniger was trained outside a traditional studio-arts context, with an academic background in law and art history. This dual formation continues to shape her approach to artistic work: precise and structured, attentive to boundaries, while remaining responsive to material and visual intuition.

Her practice centers on abstraction as a controlled, sustained engagement rather than an expressive gesture. She works with conditions such as pressure, containment, and weight, allowing forms to develop through restriction and density instead of expansion or release. Her practice is shaped less by expression than by control — by choosing limits and working within them. Painting becomes a way of holding something in place rather than explaining it.

She works primarily with acrylic and oil pastel on raw canvas. The process is direct and materially grounded. Form develops through the accumulation of material and the application of pressure. The work is often monochromatic or limited in palette, emphasizing the material itself rather than color as a primary concern.

SophStudioWorks presents original abstract paintings available for collectors, interior designers, and curatorial contexts. All works are one-of-a-kind and created as part of clearly defined bodies of work.
